Ukraine has received ten mobile climate-controlled shelters from Denmark for storing aviation equipment sensitive to temperature and humidity. The Ministry of Defence says the units can safely protect metrology equipment and selected aircraft components.
The delivery brings the total number of such mobile shelters in Ukraine to 25. Another 15 units are expected by the end of the year, which would increase the fleet to 40.
Why climate control matters
Modern aviation depends not only on aircraft, but also on the condition of instruments, components and support equipment. Temperature swings, moisture and poor storage conditions can damage expensive systems or reduce their reliability.
In wartime, this becomes a practical readiness issue. Better storage lowers the risk of losing critical equipment and helps keep aviation assets ready for maintenance, repair and operational tasks.
Part of a wider air force coalition
The shelters were supplied under the international Air Force Capability Coalition. The coalition supports Ukraine through pilot and technician training, modern aviation equipment and development of airfield infrastructure.
For Denmark and other partners, this type of assistance is less visible than aircraft or missiles, but it directly strengthens the logistics base behind Ukraine’s air defense and aviation operations. For Ukraine, mobile shelters add flexibility: valuable equipment can be protected closer to where it is needed and moved when the security situation changes.
