On January 30, the prime minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen arrived in Ukraine. Denmark is the first country that took patronage over the post-war reconstruction of the city of Mykolaiv. As part of this initiative, Mette Frederiksen and Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the city. The destruction caused to Mykolaiv by the war against Ukraine is the reason for strengthening the defence of Ukraine.
After a tour of the destroyed city, the PM and the president went to Odesa and held a joint press conference. Mette Frederiksen said that her country will transfer to Ukraine all the howitzers that are in Denmark. Specifically — 19 Caesar howitzers.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Denmark for its support and joining the "tank coalition". The president emphasized how important it is for Ukraine also to strengthen anti-aircraft and anti-ship defence.
Separately, the president recalled the efforts of Ukraine and other states to prevent athletes from Russia from participating in international competitions.
