Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has called for tighter integration of Ukraine’s defense industry into the European defense ecosystem. Speaking during the Nordic-Baltic summit in Tallinn, she said investments in defense and deterrence should be developed in cooperation with Ukraine.
Frederiksen emphasized that Ukraine is constantly developing new technologies and production capacities, and that European countries should learn from this experience. The message reflects a broader shift in which Ukraine is seen not only as a recipient of military support, but also as a source of defense innovation.
Security of all Europe
The Danish prime minister linked Ukrainian defense capacity with the security of the whole continent. Russia’s aggression, hybrid actions and attempts to divide European societies make resilience and unity a central task for the Nordic and Baltic region.
The Nordic-Baltic format brings together Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Ukraine’s participation underlines the role of regional cooperation in defense planning.
For Ukrainian manufacturers, deeper integration can mean more joint projects, clearer demand from partners and better access to European production chains. For Europe, it means using Ukraine’s battlefield-tested experience to strengthen deterrence and industrial readiness.
