€200 Million from EBRD and Italy for Ukraine’s Hydropower Plants Restoration

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in collaboration with the Italian government, is set to allocate €200 million towards the restoration of hydroelectric power plants in Ukraine, severely impacted by war-induced damages and destruction

This financial assistance comprises a €100 million loan from the EBRD, coupled with an equivalent concessional loan from Italy. The loan agreement, inked on February 17 between the EBRD and Ukrhydroenergo PJSC, aims to facilitate the procurement of vital equipment for the Dnipro and Middle Dnipro hydropower plants and provide emergency liquidity support to ensure the operational sustainability of Ukrhydroenergo PJSC.
