The Ministry of energy announces the signing of the 2023 map to implement the previously concluded Memorandum of understanding on a strategic energy partnership between the MoE of Ukraine and the European Commission.

"The parties will focus on energy market reforms in Ukraine that will contribute to the reconstruction of energy infrastructure and facilities and are aimed at decarbonisation, transition to clean energy and recovery," MoE of Ukraine.

According to the Memorandum, the main areas of cooperation between organisations are defined as: energy efficiency, sustainability, nuclear safety, a transformation of coal regions, oil reserves, gas and electricity markets, renewable energy, science and innovation.

"The electricity market in Ukraine will develop according to the European model. First of all, we are talking about the transition to clean energy with guarantees of energy security and energy availability for consumers. We should also speed up work on the implementation of technical and regulatory solutions that will expand export-import flows at the borders and make our energy systems more flexible," deputy energy minister Yaroslav Demchenkov.

This year, Ukraine and the European Commission will also focus on increasing the volume of exported electricity.
