The initiative, which began in July 2022, has significantly contributed to the entrepreneurial landscape in Ukraine by supporting various sectors.
Breakdown of the grants awarded includes:
- Under the "Own business" program, 13,618 micro-grants amounting to UAH 3.2 billion were disbursed.
- For the enhancement of processing enterprises, 635 grants totaling UAH 3.2 billion were allocated.
- The horticulture and greenhouse sector saw the distribution of 177 grants worth UAH 778 million.
- Veterans and their family members were beneficiaries of 335 grants, receiving a total of UAH 144 million.
The Ministry highlighted that the grant program is open to both existing entrepreneurs and individuals without prior business experience. Prospective recipients are required to submit their applications via the Diya portal, accompanied by a comprehensive business plan. A crucial prerequisite for grant eligibility is the commitment to creating new job opportunities, ranging from 1-2 positions under the micro-grant scheme to potentially dozens for larger grant programs. Moreover, the grant funds are expected to be recouped by the state through taxes and fees generated by the grantee enterprises over a three-year period, underscoring the initiative's sustainable model of economic development and support.
