Estonia Launched the Infrastructure Reconstruction Project in Ukraine

The state became the first which actually start the process of restoring war-damaged objects

On June 2, the president of Estonia, Alar Karis, arrived in Kyiv. The president held meetings with Volodymyr Zelenskyy and PM Denys Shmyhal. According to the results of the meeting between the president of Estonia and the prime minister of Ukraine, it became known that Estonia was the first of all countries to move from intentions to actions in the matter of rebuilding Ukraine's infrastructure. Specifically, state authorities launched the restoration of a kindergarten in Ovruch town, Zhytomyr Region.

According to Shmyhal, the parties also had the opportunity to discuss the cooperation of states in the issue of holding Russia accountable for what it has committed against Ukraine: confiscation of assets and increased sanctions pressure. The minister thanked Alar Karis for Estonia's leadership position on the way to creating a reparations mechanism and a special tribunal for Russia's military and political leadership.

Shmyhal emphasised that Estonia's support on Ukraine's path to NATO and the EU is invaluable. As well as the military aid that Ukraine receives from Estonia every day: weapons, ammunition, medical care and military training for members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"All these decisive steps in countering Russian aggression bring our victory closer!" Denys Shmyhal.
