This week in Brussels will be held EUCO. The leaders of the European Union states are preparing for the summit and emphasize that the Ukrainian issue will be one of the most important.
"Very glad to welcome Swedish PM Ulf Kristersson in Tallinn. Good exchange before the upcoming EUCO. Nordic-Baltic cooperation can make a difference. Discussed how our region can continue to lead in supporting Ukraine and bolstering our own joint defence," Kaja Kallas during a meeting with Ulf Kristersson in Tallinn.
"Preparing EUCO GAC. The main points are Ukraine, competitiveness and migration. Regarding the latter, the Pact on Migration & Asylum is essential to guarantee people's right to receive asylum, while ensuring a good balance between responsibility & solidarity among states," Hadja Lahbib, Belgian MFA.
"This week's EUCO will touch upon important issues for the EU. In today's preparatory meeting hosted by Charles Michel, we focused on support for Ukraine on all dimensions, strengthening the competitiveness of the EU economy, and implementing concrete measures to fight illegal migration," Klaus Iohannis, president of Romania.
It is known that president Zelenskyy is invited to participate in the summit. Currently, it is not known whether the president will come to Brussels, but on February 3, during the EU-Ukraine summit, Zelenskyy emphasized his readiness for a second foreign trip.
