The owner of the restaurant of Ukrainian cuisine in NY Veselka announced the opening of 2 more establishments

Veselka restaurant was opened in East Village, New York, in 1954 by Ukrainian spouses Volodymyr and Olha Darmokhvaly. For 70 years, the most famous restaurant of Ukrainian cuisine in the United States has been feeding everyone with dumplings, borscht, cabbage rolls, dumplings, etc. An interesting fact: "veselka" is a transliteration of the Ukrainian word "rainbow".

Jason Birchard, CEO of the restaurant and son-in-law of the founders of Veselka, said that the establishment in the East Village is temporarily closed for renovations, and by the end of 2023, 2 more rainbows will be opened the Williamsburg restaurant and the window on Grand Central.

"My staff is very motivated. I couldn't have done it without their hard work. About 50% of the staff are Ukrainians," Jason Birchard.

The establishment at Grand Central will be launched by analogy with Veselka Lower East Side, which has been operating since 2018. It is likely that each of the establishments will return to 24-hour service soon.
