Extension of Ukraine’s Sanctions Against Iran

The government has drawn up an additional list of sanctions against legal entities and individuals for a period of 50 years

On April 25, the Ministry of economy of Ukraine published a list of proposed sanctions against Iranian citizens and assets on the territory of Ukraine. This is the second package of sanctions that Ukraine has drawn up in response to Iran's armed participation in Russia's war in Ukraine.

Sectoral sanctions for 50 years for Iranian citizens are distributed:

  • Capital withdrawal from Ukraine;
  • Prohibition on transfer of technology and right to intellectual property;
  • Ban on electronic payments;
  • Ban on investing in Iranian projects, etc.

"We will also work to ensure that as many countries as possible join such tough decisions. Aggression against Ukraine will not go unpunished. This is exactly how helping an aggressor will not go unpunished," said Yuliya Svyridenko.

A control procedure for creating, transferring, and using dual-purpose goods is also being developed.
