Ukrainian farmers are advised to stock complex fertilizers for the autumn season in advance. Domestic production at Sumykhimprom and the Dnipro Mineral Fertilizer Plant is idle and unlikely to resume under current war risks. As a result, local supply is largely represented by companies that mix, granulate or compact imported products.
Market analysis highlights that global prices are rising and supply is constrained, which increases production costs for manufacturers and suppliers. With weak domestic output, dependence on imports remains very high. The situation is not critical yet, but may deteriorate closer to autumn.
The recommendation is to begin procurement now while products are still available at older price levels. This applies to potassium as well, which is vital for autumn feeding. Israel is a major potassium supplier, and disruptions there could affect availability.
While the potassium situation is stable for now, sharp increases in phosphorus and nitrogen prices suggest potassium may also rise. Delaying purchases could mean higher costs and tighter availability later.
