On July 11, a law came into force to strengthen control over the tobacco use of Ukrainians, as well as the production and advertising of cigarette products with vitamins/pseudo-healthy additives/caffeine/flavours/capsules, etc. In addition, control over the sale of cigarette products to minors is being tightened.
Anti-tobacco legislation now prohibits the production, sale, advertising and promotion of the purchase and use of flavoured tobacco products and accessories, electronic cigarettes and liquids. The State consumer service of Ukraine has allocated 12 months for producers to sell leftovers. After this time, the production of the above products is only allowed for export.
Monitoring the distribution of cigarettes, heating devices and aromatic additives of various forms was restored in April this year.
