Finland has committed €5 million to fund the construction of two new schools in Ukraine, as part of its green recovery program. The project, facilitated by the Northern Environmental Finance Company (Nefco), focuses on rebuilding educational infrastructure with a sustainable approach.
These schools, to be built using wood, will replace two educational institutions in the village of Nemyshave, west of Kyiv, that were destroyed by Russian missile attacks in early 2022. The initiative not only aims to restore the educational facilities but also incorporates energy-efficient solutions to ensure a sustainable future for the rebuilt schools.
