Industrial Recovery Meets Green Energy

The Ukrainian company Planeta Plastik has launched the first plant in Ukraine powered by solar energy for the production of polyethylene pipes.

The facility, located in Irpin (Kyiv region), symbolizes both industrial resilience after the destruction of 2022 and the transition toward sustainable production models in Ukraine.

Key Specifications of the Plant

  • Annual capacity: over 17,000 km of polyethylene pipes.

  • Applications: water supply, gas networks, technical and protective systems.

  • Product range: diameters from 16 mm to 800 mm.

  • Standards:

    • DSTU EN 12201 – water supply.

    • DSTU EN 1555 – gas distribution.

  • Quality: certified under ISO 9001:2015.

  • Raw materials: sourced from leading global producers.

Employment and Market Reach

The plant has already created new jobs and will supply products to:

  • Domestic market: fast delivery to all Ukrainian regions thanks to its central location.

  • Export markets: supporting Ukraine’s growing role in European polymer supply chains.

In addition, special pricing programs have been introduced for educational and medical institutions, reinforcing the company’s role in social responsibility.

Strategic Importance for Ukraine

The Irpin plant reflects three strategic investment trends:

  1. Industrial resilience: rebuilt less than a year after being destroyed in 2022.

  2. Green transition: first solar-powered polymer pipe plant in Ukraine.

  3. Export potential: competitive products certified to European standards.

“Irpin. In 2022, the enemy destroyed everything here. We did not surrender. We are building new ones. In less than a year, we built a new pipe plant that will work for the benefit and future of Ukraine,”
Konstantin Vashchenko, co-founder of Planeta Plastik.

About Planeta Plastik

Founded in 2003, Planeta Plastik LLC specializes in:

  • Agricultural and industrial films.

  • Harwell™ polymer sleeves for grain and feed storage.

  • Polyethylene pipes for water, gas, and technical needs.

Despite being completely destroyed in spring 2022, the company rapidly restored operations, invested in new technologies, and expanded export-oriented production.

Investment Vector: Why This Matters for Foreign Partners

  • Infrastructure demand: Ukraine’s water and gas networks require large-scale modernization.

  • Green industry: solar-powered production reduces carbon footprint and strengthens energy independence.

  • EU integration: compliance with European standards opens direct access to EU markets.

  • Resilient industry: Irpin’s case demonstrates Ukraine’s ability to rebuild quickly and sustainably, making industrial projects attractive for investors.
