Five European Countries to Supply Electricity to Ukraine

Ukraine is experiencing a significant electricity shortage, necessitating blackout schedules across all regions

To address this issue, Ukraine plans to import electricity from neighboring countries including Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Moldova, as reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.

"For most of the day, there is a significant shortage of electricity in the power system. The Ukrenergo dispatch center has submitted consumption limits for each region to Oblenergo. Today, May 16, from 00:00 in all regions of Ukraine, hourly shutdown schedules are in effect," the statement said.

Currently, 446 settlements are without electricity. Due to military actions, new blackouts have occurred in the Donetsk, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions. Technical problems have also led to blackouts in the Kyiv, Odesa, and Sumy regions.
