Last year, Ukraine-European Union trade was recorded at $12.6 billion. This is a record number for the entire period of Ukraine-EU cooperation.
Mykola Puhachov of the Institute of Agrarian Economy of Ukraine said that:
- Residues and waste products for animal feeding were purchased for $289 million;
- Chocolate in $262 million;
- Grain products in $252 million;
- Meat in $203 million;
- Sub-products in and $203 million.
Ukraine spent the most on the EU purchase of beverages, mainly alcoholic beverages. The purchase amount was $484 million. Shipments of tobacco and tobacco products from Europe increased by 17% from 2020 — to $377 million.
"Last year, Ukraine imported invest.com/investing-in-ukraine/business-opportunities/agricultural/" rel="dofollow">agricultural products from EU member states worth about $4.2 billion. This is almost 19% more than in 2020," informed Mykola Puhachov.
Let's note that the main partners remained countries that have been on the list of mutual trade relations for many years. Thus the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, and Belgium remained European partners for Ukraine.
