Doctor of biological sciences Ivan Rusev said that more than 35 flamingos flew to the state natural park of Ukraine Tuzlovo Estuaries, Odesa region. According to the doctor, the birds crossed one of the reserve's borders and are now located near a lake named after Zaitsev.
In late April, rare pink flamingos were seen in Ukraine. They also flew to the Odesa region, the village of Serhiivka. In October 2022, more than 200 flamingos were sighted in the south of the country. Note that previously flamingos in Ukraine were considered a rare bird that used the territory of the country as that infantry zone. In 2017, a rare bird was recorded in Ukraine for the first time. Now pink flamingos more often visit the country, choosing protected areas. Perhaps the change in their habitat is due to the search for places in which tourists are absent.
"Birds now maintain a protected area, which is forbidden to visit, especially during the war," explained Ivan Rusev.
