For Ukrainians, Animals Are Safer Than Neighbors

Ukrainians save animals from shelling and bombs

For many Ukrainians, animals are family members. Only a small number of people in the first days of the war abandoned their four-faced friends due to panic. Now volunteers are actively working to ensure the safety of animals in Ukraine. A major advantage was that neighboring countries open to refugees were allowed to move with undocumented animals.

Here are some recent examples that Ukrainians are not ready to give up even animals in trouble.

Near Kyiv, in the village of Markhalevka, an airstrike destroyed a residential house. After a cowardly strike of the occupiers, only a man and a cat survived. The man lost his whole family, but even in this situation, he took the cat for evacuation.

A girl was also seen in Irpin trying to save disabled dogs. Journalists managed to photograph a girl with 9 dogs at once. Some dogs are wheelchairs, and in the city go merciless shootings. But this does not stop the volunteer.
