Freddie Mercury’s “Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow” Was Sold to Help Ukrainians

For the last 9 years, the car belonged to Ukrainian singer and "Eurovision-2007" star Verka Serduchka

On November 5, the Rolls-Royce, which was once poured for the leader of the Queen band Freddie Mercury, was sold at the Sotheby's auction. The car owner for the last 9 years was the Ukrainian artist Andrii Danylko, known to the world community as Verka Serduchka after his participation in Eurovision-2007. The car was sold for £250.000, the new owner is a businessman from Kharkiv. All funds will be transferred to the account of the Superhumans clinic in the Lviv region, which will deal with prosthetics for Ukrainians crippled by the war. The money will be used to open a reconstructive surgery department, treat civilians and military personnel, train doctors, and purchase equipment.

"Andrii Danylko, a true admirer of the Queen leader's talent, bought this car to donate to the museum. And then the war came. And Andrii decided to do something different — he auctioned off the legendary car to transfer the proceeds to us for the earliest possible launch of the centre. And now the car was purchased for £250.000. An incredible amount, a very generous donation, significant support for our clinic, and a significant contribution to the faith of bright people," said Superhumans director Olha Rudneva.

The treatment will be free of charge, and a queue of Ukrainians needing help with prosthetics has already begun to form. The clinic's opening is planned for April 2023, and so far, Ukrainians with such injuries are receiving help abroad.

We remind you that this year's Eurovision winner Kalush Orchestra sold their crystal prize from an auction and donated money to the Ukrainian army.
