German Development Minister Svenja Schulze Makes Unscheduled Visit to Kyiv

German Development Minister Svenja Schulze has arrived in Kyiv on an unscheduled visit, as reported by Tagesschau

Schulze's visit is part of the preparations for an upcoming recovery conference set to be held in Berlin on June 11-12. The conference aims to attract approximately 1,500 participants, including heads of state and government.

During her visit, Schulze will engage in discussions that include plans to expand the Ukrainian electricity grid with German assistance and initiatives for training skilled workers in Ukraine. "People here rebuild their country every day, they don't give up. It is crucial to support not only with weapons but also in civilian reconstruction," Schulze stated, emphasizing the importance of multifaceted support for Ukraine.

Additionally, Schulze will participate in the "Summit of Cities and Regions" taking place in Kyiv. This visit underscores Germany's ongoing commitment to supporting Ukraine, not only in military terms but also through significant contributions to its civilian infrastructure and recovery efforts.
