Bundesrat of Germany issued a decision regarding the continued stay of Ukrainians in the country. Ukrainians who arrive in Germany after September 1 will be able to stay in the country for up to 90 days without registration. Refugees who arrived in German cities before 1 September must leave the country for 90 days or register with the appropriate authorities. Registration of Ukrainians presupposes the status of temporary protection.
This means that Ukrainians will not be officially considered refugees but will receive a year of social protection and shelter. At the same time, Ukrainians are not obliged to stay in the same city or country for all 365 days. Also, at any time, Ukrainians are allowed to return to Ukraine. According to The Page, citizens of Ukraine will be able to pass all procedures comfortably.
"If you have Ukrainian citizenship, the border crossing into the federal territory should be simplified and be without bureaucracy. However, it is necessary to be registered immediately after entry into Germany, for example, when applying for a residence permit with the immigration authorities. Thus, a stay in Germany must be possible for all victims within 90 days without a residence permit," stated in the document of the federal council of the FRG.
