“Grain From Ukraine” to Yemen

A bulk carrier with 30.000 tons of Ukrainian wheat is moving by the green corridor

Grain From Ukraine is a Ukrainian humanitarian initiative aimed at providing free grain to needy states. The initiative has been put into practice thanks to the joint efforts of Ukraine, the World Food Program and sponsoring countries.

Recently, the bulk carrier Negmar Cicek with grain left the Odesa port of Chornomorsk for Yemen as part of Grain From Ukraine. The bulk carrier is loaded with 30.000 tons of grain, made possible by joint donations from the US, Spain and France.

This is already the 6th vessel with humanitarian Ukrainian grain. Previously, food was sent through the green corridor to Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya and Yemen. During this time, African countries received 25.7 million tons of food from Ukraine.

We remind you that on March 18, 2023, the agreements on grain corridors were extended for another 120 days.
