Green Cooperation Between Ukraine and Georgia

The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine and the Ministry of the economy and sustainable development of Georgia signed a memorandum of "Understanding in the spheres of energy efficiency, renewable energy and alternative fuels"

The memorandum confirms the mutual intentions of the two countries to create opportunities for the implementation of green energy projects. Within the framework of new cooperation, Ukraine and Georgia plan to exchange developments, experiences and practices in the implementation of various energy-efficient projects.

"Both countries are making efforts to develop green energy, decarbonize the economy, and the partnership will open up additional horizons for common goals," said Kostiantyn Gura, acting head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine.

The memorandum will become the basis for the development of qualitatively new international relations and the construction of an effective low-carbon economy of both countries.

"Ukraine has enormous potential for the development of both energy efficiency and green energy. Over the past 7 years, significant progress has been made — projects worth about 7,8 billion euros of investments have been launched," said Kostiantyn Gura.
