Green Projects in Ukraine

Among the countries that have actively joined the fight to preserve the environment, Ukraine occupies a special place

The Ministry of ecology and natural resources of Ukraine was established to monitor the implementation of government decisions on environmental conservation in the country. In addition to government organizations, a lot of independent environmental saving projects are also developing in Ukraine:

All-Ukrainian youth movement Let's do it Ukraine is a member of the global movement Let's Do It World, which unites more than 50 million activists in 180 countries. Every year, on the third Saturday of September, the movement participants join the World Cleaning Day in their country — they go out to the streets of cities and collect the abandoned garbage and the collected waste, which is calculated on the scale of the whole country in tens of tons, is sent for recycling. The goal of this community is to develop an ecological culture, skills of proper waste management, and respect for the environment.

In Ukrainian Kamenets-Podolsk, there is a movement Take it away in the mountains. Local activists go on trash raids on a weekly basis: in summer and autumn, they collect trash in the Carpathians. The movement has grown to hundreds of caring citizens. Among them are teachers, programmers, businessmen, and musicians.

Green Box is a social enterprise and public organization founded in 2016. Their goal is to teach Ukrainians how to sort waste and give them convenient tools for this properly.

The company sells ecological cardboard containers for sorting glass and various types of plastics and doing maintenance there: collecting sorted waste from 145 apartments and 93 offices in Lviv.
