Group “Metallica” Donates $1 Million to Mariupol Evacuees

American music group raised money for victims of Russian occupiers and handed them over to humanitarian centers in Ukraine

In Ukraine, a center has been set up to help refugees from Mariupol. The project of humanitarian aid of YaMaryupol operates in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhia. People who were fleeing the brutality of the Russian Federation were left with nothing. They have no home, no cars, no clothes, and no happy memories. Therefore, humanitarian hubs try to provide people from Mariupol with everything they need: from soap to clothes and temporary housing.

But the project needs financial support. And it was given by the legendary group Metallica. The band donated $1 million to YaMaryupol. This money was collected by the artists at concerts and public gatherings. The money has already been transferred to an organization that caters to internally displaced persons.

"The best band of all time, Metallica, has raised $1 million and has already given it to World central kitchen. But you do not know that for this money World central kitchen already feeds Mariupols in the centers of YaMaryupol in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia," wrote the adviser of the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andriushenko.

The whole world learned about the tragedy of Mariupol. Therefore, many actors, singers, and public figures raise funds for Ukrainians. Billy Aylish, Celine Dion, Ozzy Osbourne, Oprah Winfrey, and others join the fund-raising campaign for Ukraine.
