The tragic story of Bucha is known to the whole world. In this town in the Kyiv region, as in other towns of the Kyiv region, during the occupation, the Russians killed thousands of Ukrainians and destroyed the entire infrastructure. For more than a year, Ukraine has been restoring water and energy supply to cities in this territory, and the work is still ongoing.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the telecommunications centre of the Bucha town council jointly implemented the alternative energy supply project. Solar panels with a total capacity of 60 kW were installed on the territory of the village of Havrylivka. The generated energy feeds the pumping station, which provides water to all community residents. Also, a diesel generator appeared on the territory of the pumping station, which would not have been needed if the occupiers had not destroyed everything in their path.
Previously, Kyiv received solar plants from Roy Group Energy, France. They were transferred to meet the needs of capital hospitals.
