The event occurred on October 15 to remind about the Ukrainian tragedy and help the country attacked by a neighbour.

The only winner of the gold medal in Tokyo in 2020 gave an opening speech at the marathon. The man wore a black T-shirt with the inscription "I'm Afro-Ukrainian". The athlete spoke about the struggle for their lands and the need to help the military. The grand opening of the event also took place. Several thousand people came for a charity run.
