International Hague Lawsuit Against Iran for the Destruction of the Ukrainian “UIA” Plane

Over Tehran Ukraine, Great Britain, Sweden, and Canada filed a case in the UN Court filed a claim for the crash of "Boeing 737" on flight "PS752"

January 8, 2020, Iran's islamic revolutionary guard corps aerospace force used 2 air-to-air missiles against a Ukrainian International Airlines passenger plane on PS752 Kyiv-Tehran flight. The downed plane crashed 3 minutes after taking off from Tehran. All on board were killed: 167 passengers and 9 crew members. Iran must be held accountable also for not preventing the actions of its armed forces and for failing to conduct a full and impartial investigation. Additionally, Iran ignored a demand to establish arbitration (December 28, 2022).

Therefore, in the first week of July 2023, the International Coordination and Response Group for the victims of flight PS752, consisting of Ukraine, Great Britain, Sweden, and Canada, filed a lawsuit with the International Court of Justice in Hague to initiate proceedings against Iran for violating the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against the Safety of Civil Aviation of 1971. Foreign, commonwealth and development office of the UK reported this on July 5.

"Today's legal action reflects our unwavering commitment to achieving transparency, justice and accountability for the families of the victims," joint statement of the International Coordination and Response Group for the victims of flight PS752.
