Irpin is a town in the Kyiv region, which was under Russian occupation for more than a month. This town has witnessed all the power of cruelty, bestial nature and ignorance of the Russian soldier. The city is destroyed, and half its inhabitants are killed, maimed, wounded and raped.
With the support and assistance of the Ukrainian parliament deputy Maryan Zablotskiy and chairman of the investment council of Irpin Volodymyr Karplyuk, the mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez, decided to conclude twinning bonds with the Ukrainian city.
"Irpin and Miami (USA) will become sister cities. We made the corresponding decision on such intentions at the town council session. In Miami, the same decision was made at the end of July. Ahead of us is the signing of the twinning and cooperation Agreement with Miami mayor Francis Suarez. I thank the people's deputy of Ukraine Maryan Zablotskiy and the chairman of the investment council of Irpin Volodymyr Karplyuk for their help and assistance in establishing such important international relations for us," mayor of Irpin Olexandr Markushin.
The twinning of cities is an economical, cultural and integration phenomenon. The status of a sister city means trust and respect from a foreign partner. It creates a basis for cooperation in all available areas: economy, energy, agriculture, technology, education, medicine, etc.
We remind you that on May 10, the Khmelnytskyy region of Ukraine became a twin region of Mississippi.
