The states of Italy and Spain have decided to build their gas pipeline without using Russian gas.
Continuing work on gas, for which Ukrainians do not pay with their blood, the Italian minister of foreign affairs, Luigi Di Maio, planned a trip to Azerbaijan. The purpose of the visit with the departments of Azerbaijan is to increase gas supplies through the Trans-Adriatic gas pipeline.
On April 2, Lithuania, the first EU country, completely refused to import and use gas from Russia. Lithuanian minister of energy Dainius Kreivys called this decision backed by action, a turning point in the history of Lithuanian energy independence. And, of course, he noted that the efforts of Lithuania equated to zero the ridiculous demand of the Kremlin to pay for gas in rubles.
Also, during a briefing in Baku, Luigi Di Maio told reporters that Italy is ready to become a guarantor of Ukraine's security.
"The main priority for us is the continuation of the negotiation process. The actions taken by Turkey are highly appreciated. The results of the negotiations will be analyzed. Italy is ready to act as a guarantor of Ukraine's neutral status," the minister of foreign affairs of Italy.
