Italy Recognised Holodomor 1932-1933 as the Genocide of the Ukrainian Nation

On 26 July,  the Senate adopted the document recognising the Kremlin's guilt and responsibility for the deaths of millions of Ukrainians

The highest authority of the Italian state signed a resolution on the Holodomor 1932-1933 as a deliberate genocide of the Ukrainian people. 130 politicians voted for everything written in the document. Only 4 officials abstained from voting.

The resolution reports that Joseph Stalin artificially created famine for millions of Ukrainians. Peasants and small landowners have suffered in the territory of Ukraine. More than 5 million civilians died during the year of the famine. This document restores historical justice and obliges Italy to take further steps to deal with this tragedy when necessary.

"The memory of the Holodomor and Soviet crimes against the Ukrainian people is even more important today in the light of the Russian invasion and the new attempt to erase the Ukrainian national identity," the Senate said in a resolution.

Italy's recognition of the repressive regime of the USSR, which kills is not the first. More than 30 countries have already recognised the Holodomor as a genocide of the Ukrainian people.

Ukrainian politicians have already thanked Italy for considering this historically important fragment from the history of the Ukrainian people and deciding to favour Ukraine. Recall that the Holodomor has brought some of the scariest pictures and stories of famine to the world. All the deaths occurred because of Moscow's decision to forcibly take private property and create collective farms, which were administered by the Kremlin. Very strict implementation of these decisions was controlled on the territory of central Ukraine. In Vinnytsia province, 545.000 people were killed, Dnipro region – 368.000, Odesa region – 326.000, Chernihiv region – 254.000, and Donetsk – 230.000. Also, Holodomor killed 68.000 people in the Moldavian ASSR.
