Italy Supports Ukraine’s EU- and NATO Integration Plans

If Ukraine fulfils all the conditions for joining the European Union and the Alliance

Italian foreign minister Antonio Tajani said that Italy supports Ukraine's plans to become part of the European Union and NATO. Italy will "do everything" to make Ukraine's plans come true. However, for its part, Ukraine must work to implement the necessary reforms and implement all the recommendations of the European Commission.

"Of course, provided that it adheres to the rules of the EU and implements the necessary reforms, for example, in the fight against corruption. We hope for a fast track for Ukraine, as well as for the Western Balkans," Antonio Tajani.

Ukraine needs help on this challenging path of destroying the Soviet shackles and transitioning to progressive traditions. Therefore, according to Tajani, it is necessary to resume work on expanding the Alliance so that Ukraine can become part of it "as soon as the conflict ends."

For a year in the status of a candidate member of the European Union, Ukraine fulfilled 2 out of 7 criteria. Zelenskyy promises to do everything possible to implement the remaining criteria by the end of 2023. Also, Ukraine does not lose hope of receiving a list of requirements for joining NATO.
