Japanese “Uniqlo” Collaboration With Ukrainian Designers

The collection "UTme" included the works of 4 Ukrainian artists from the "Ukrainian Cultural Community" in Berlin

Unique Clothing Warehouse started cooperation with Ukrainian women from the project Ukrainian Cultural Community:

  • Ptashka Somari (style — post-graffiti and retrofuturism);
  • Anastasiia Pasichnyk;
  • Viki Berg (style — tufting);
  • Zina Isupova (style — casual).

People can buy creative clothes and shoppers in Berlin (Tauentzienstrasse 7b/c). The peculiarity of the collection was that buyers can independently choose an image for clothes, add text or even create their own design of the thing. This can be done immediately in the store. All drawings of the collection consist of Ukrainian paintings.

Ukrainian Cultural Community is a project of Ukrainian women living in Berlin. It appeared in April 2022. The project's main goal was to help Ukrainians who suffered from Russia's full-scale war in Ukraine. UCC raised €60.000 to help the country and also became the residence of Ukrainian artists in Berlin. In addition, Ukrainian artists collected financial assistance – €7.000 – for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria in 2023.

Now Ukrainians in Berlin are distributing their works. Japanese casual wear brand Uniqlo has released a collection of UTme. The special feature of the collection was the drawings on clothes belonging to artists from the Ukrainian Cultural Community.
