This announcement came following the JEF summit in Tallinn, according to a joint statement released by the participating countries.
The summit’s participants discussed expanded measures to provide practical support to Ukraine, as well as efforts to maintain and strengthen cooperative defense strategies among JEF nations. The JEF includes the United Kingdom, Estonia, the Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland.
Formed to enhance defense cooperation and rapid crisis response, the JEF complements NATO’s activities. Its mission involves the capacity to deliver prompt support ahead of any formal invocation of Article 5 of the NATO treaty, thereby acting as a crucial component of Europe’s security architecture.
