Kyiv Entered the Top Hundred Best Cities in the World

The American company "Resonance Consultancy" for the first time included the capital of Ukraine and gave it 87th place

For the sixth year in a row, Resonance Consultancy analyzes cities with a population of over one million and compiles a rating of the best cities in the world for life, work, investment and travel Best Cities Reports 2021.

Applicants for the rating are evaluated in 25 areas and 6 categories:

  • environment based on COVID-19 cases
  • key city institutions
  • attractions and infrastructure
  • human capital
  • standard of living; 
  • leisure;
  • media coverage, internet coverage etc.

"In the section on monuments and sights, they recall the objects included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in Ukraine — St. Sophia Cathedral and Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, as well as St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral and St. Vladimir Cathedral. The capital's museums were ranked 27th among all museums in the world."

Analysts of Best Cities Reports 2021 describe Kyiv as "one of the most expressive cities", compares buildings with pisanka (Ukrainian national cultural symbol — Easter egg, decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist method), and also picturesquely describes the hills of the Dnipro and the horizons of golden-domed cathedrals.
