Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Transferred to the Possession of the Ukrainian Patriarchate

Founded in 1051, the Lavra non-canonically was in possession of the Moscow patriarchate for many years

Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is a unique architectural gem on the right slope of the Dnipro in Kyiv. Founded in 1501, the monastery is the centre of christianity in Kyivan Rus and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. However, due to historical injustice and the Russian passion to appropriate everything in its path, for a long time part of the monastery was under the jurisdiction of the Moscow patriarchate of the Ukrainian orthodox church. After numerous cases about the assistance of the priests of the Moscow patriarchate to the Russian invaders and pro-Russian agitation, the parliament of Ukraine decided to block the activities of the Moscow patriarchate in Ukraine.

At the end of November, searches began in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which confirmed the adherence of the Moscow patriarchate to the Moscow authorities, Putin's aggression and pro-Russian position. Ukrainians rebelled and began to demand the return of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to the possession of the Ukrainian orthodox church.

On December 1, the Ukrainians received what they demanded: historical justice was restored, the consequences of the non-canonical subordination of the Ukrainian shrine to the power of the MP were eliminated, and the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian orthodox church. From now on, the metropolitan of Kyiv and all of Ukraine is the canonical and spiritual leader of the Lavra, and devout traitors will no longer sit in the centre of Kyiv.

Glory to Ukraine!
