Kyiv region deepens investment ties with Azerbaijan

Regional officials focus on energy infrastructure production projects and reconstruction experience

Kyiv region is strengthening cooperation with Azerbaijan around investment and reconstruction. During a working visit, the regional delegation held meetings focused on international partnership, new production projects and recovery of communities affected by the war.

The delegation visited ATEF Group, one of Azerbaijan’s major producers of electrical equipment. The discussion centered on energy infrastructure and the possibility of launching new business projects in Kyiv region. The company is already investing in Ukraine and building a plant in the west of the country.

Energy equipment and local production

For Kyiv region, this direction is practical. Energy infrastructure remains one of the key recovery needs, and cooperation with an equipment producer can support both resilience and industrial development.

New production projects may also create jobs, deepen supply chains and bring technology into the region. In reconstruction policy, such partnerships are valuable because they connect investment with visible local capacity, not only with grant support.

Learning from recovery experience

The Ukrainian side also discussed reconstruction experience with representatives of Azerbaijan’s Lachin district. The focus was on restoring infrastructure and developing communities that suffered from war.

Kyiv region is interested in partnerships that produce concrete economic results: investment, manufacturing, infrastructure solutions and community recovery. The visit shows how regional diplomacy can become a practical tool for rebuilding, especially when it connects foreign investors with specific industrial needs.
