On August 2, a Japanese delegation headed by finance minister Masato Kanda was in Kyiv. Minister Kanda announced Japan's intentions to finance post-war reconstruction and reconstruction projects in Ukraine through World Bank projects. In the course of negotiations with his Ukrainian counterpart Martino Marchenko, Kanda confirmed plans to accumulate international forces in economic assistance to Ukraine, to strengthen sanctions against the Kremlin at the G7 level.
Masato Kanda reminded that the Japan-Ukraine conference on promoting economic recovery will be held in Tokyo in the winter of 2023.
As of today, Japan has already provided Ukraine with non-military assistance in the amount of about $7.6 billion.
