Latvia Transfers 1,500 Combat Drones to Ukraine

Latvia has announced the transfer of another batch of 1,500 combat drones to Ukraine, reinforcing Kyiv’s defense capabilities amid ongoing support from international partners

Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds shared the news on the social platform X, stating:

"Another 1,500 combat drones are on the way from Latvia to Ukraine."

Drone Coalition and Broader Support

In the first half of 2025, two Latvian companies are expected to deliver a total of 12,000 drones to Ukraine under the framework of the Drone Coalition. This coalition, formed to boost Ukraine's unmanned capabilities, represents a significant collaborative effort among allied nations.

According to available data, in 2024, the support provided by coalition member countries to Ukraine totaled €1.8 billion. An international fund within the coalition has attracted over €80 million in financing specifically for drone and related technology support.
