The equipment transferred includes a transformer TS-250000/330, previously utilized at the Riga Hydroelectric Power Plant, with a capacity of 250 MVA, a GR110 compressed air compressor, and 60 tons of transformer oil.
The logistics of transporting this oversized cargo were coordinated with assistance from the Latvian State Fire and Rescue Service, with the European Union covering the transport costs. This effort underscores the ongoing international support for Ukraine amid its energy crisis caused by continuous hostilities.
Arnis Kurgs, the administrative director of Latvenergo, emphasized the impact of this aid, stating, "With the supply of a high-voltage transformer, oil, and a compressor, assistance will be provided to the residents of Ukraine at the household level, as well as to vital public facilities like hospitals and schools." He added, "Let's be united until Ukraine wins," highlighting the solidarity and support Latvia continues to extend towards Ukraine.
