In 2019, Baykar registered in Kyiv as Avia Ventures. The company became the first private company in Ukraine to have a foreign citizen as its founders and a permit for the production of defence technologies. The purpose of this decision is to launch a plant for the production of Bayraktar TB2 and Akinci Sina drones.
In 2022, Ukraine and Turkey signed an agreement on cooperation in the aerospace field, which stimulates direct investment in developing and transferring technologies and provides special tax and customs benefits. At the beginning of 202, Avia Ventures received licenses for the import-export of military goods and, on June 23 — a license for production. Today, the plant's construction is actively underway: it is expected that the production site will be connected to the state power supply system in July this year.
In 2025, it is planned to launch the Baykar TB2 and Akinci production. Investments in the project, according to preliminary estimates $95.5 million.
