In order to strengthen national security, on April 4, the Lithuanian parliament almost unanimously prohibited Russians from buying any real estate on the territory of the state. Until 2024, Russians will not be able to buy land and premises in Lithuania, but it is available to Russians who have residence permits in this country.
The bill was introduced in March and was approved in less than a month.
"The vast majority of Russian citizens support their country's aggressive military actions and do not take actions to stop the aggression of their country's regime, so they share the responsibility," deputy foreign minister Jurgita Neliupsiene commented on the bill while presenting it to the parliament.
In addition, Lithuania has stopped issuing visas to Russians and Belarusians, and those who already have visas will undergo "individual enhanced checks." We remind you that Lithuania has banned Russians from crossing its border altogether.
