Business as a Driver of Resilience
Acting Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, Lesya Karnaukh, took part in a meeting between First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, ministers, parliamentarians, and regional businesses in Poltava.
“‘Made in Ukraine’ is not only about supporting our producers — it’s also about how business helps the state fight. Every hryvnia of taxes is a contribution to our defense capability,” emphasized Karnaukh.
Industry’s Role in the State Budget
A significant share of the dialogue participants were manufacturing enterprises, which remain leaders in tax contributions.
“Their work provided 17.6% of revenues to the state budget,” Karnaukh noted. “However, every industry in Ukraine operates under challenging conditions and requires clear rules and incentive tools to remain effective.”
The processing industry continues to demonstrate stability, serving as a foundation for regional economic activity and employment.
Dialogue with Entrepreneurs
During the meeting, business representatives raised pressing issues related to taxation, including:
-
potential changes to fuel excise rates, and
-
the taxation of international parcels worth up to €150.
Karnaukh clarified that these matters are currently under consideration in parliament, noting that both government and business share a common goal — a predictable and transparent tax policy.
“Predictability, simplification of procedures, and high-quality communication are key components of cooperation between business and the state. Economic growth and financial stability depend on this two-way movement,” summarized Lesya Karnaukh.
Economic Stability Through Partnership
The event in Poltava once again underscored the strategic partnership between the state and business in maintaining Ukraine’s financial and defense resilience.
Manufacturing companies not only support the domestic economy through production and employment but also strengthen the nation’s defense by contributing steadily to the budget despite wartime challenges.
