Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Olena Kondratyuk, announced the visit on her Facebook page, highlighting its significance for strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and Ukrainian-Polish relations.
"This is the first visit of the Speaker of the Polish Sejm. It is valuable that the speaker begins his visit by honoring and laying flowers at the Memorial Wall near Mykhailivska Square," Kondratyuk emphasized.
Kondratyuk underscored the importance of this visit in fostering closer ties between the parliaments of Ukraine and Poland, as well as showcasing Poland's ongoing support for Ukraine.
This visit follows closely on the heels of another high-profile visit, with the head of the Seimas of Lithuania, Viktoria Chmilitye-Nilsen, also arriving in Ukraine on an official visit earlier this week.
The visits by top parliamentary officials from Poland and Lithuania underscore the strong ties and solidarity between Ukraine and its European neighbors amidst ongoing regional challenges.
