The US and China Plan Frank Talks

The subject of the dialogue will be Ukraine and "exchange views on current China-US relations and major international and regional issues"

On June 9, Antony Blinken plans to meet with Wang Yi and discuss the war in Ukraine, Russia's responsibility, and the "no limits" friendship between China and the aggressor country.

"We've had a number of communications at senior levels with our Chinese counterparts about what we expect, not just from the People's Republic of China but from really all responsible members of the international community regarding Russia's brutal invasion of Ukraine," Daniel Kritenbrink, assistant secretary of the USA for East Asian and Pacific affairs.

"This will be another opportunity, I think, to have a candid exchange on that and to convey our expectations about what we would expect China to do, and not to do, in the context of Ukraine," Daniel Kritenbrink.

According to Ramin Toloui, assistant secretary for economic and business affairs, the parties will discuss Russia's role in creating and developing the food crisis by blocking Ukrainian ports. At the G20 summit, the states bringing 80% of world GDP will discuss tools to hold Russia accountable for crimes against Ukraine and the world.

"G-20 countries should hold Russia accountable and insist that it support ongoing UN efforts to reopen the sea lanes for grain delivery," assistant secretary for economic and business affairs Ramin Toloui.

Daniel Kritenbrink states that Antony Blinken's task at this meeting will be to demonstrate Wang Yi's readiness for diplomacy and "manage responsibly the intense competition" between the US and China. US government departments emphasize that their state has set a course to "prevent any miscalculation that could lead inadvertently to conflict and confrontation."
