Metinvest’s Veteran Reintegration Program Wins Top Honors at HR Brand 2024

Metinvest Group’s “Hero’s Path: Reintegration of Veterans” program has won two major awards at the annual HR Brand 2024 ceremony, including the Grand Prix

According to Metinvest’s website, the veteran reintegration initiative was recognized as the best in Ukraine, underscoring the program’s innovative approach and its positive impact on returning servicemembers to professional and social life.

About the Veteran Reintegration Program

Launched in October 2023, Metinvest’s program supports employees who served in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, guiding them from the moment of mobilization until they resume their roles within the company. The initiative focuses on both professional adaptation—ensuring veterans can return to their jobs—and social reintegration, helping them adapt to civilian life after their service.

Since the start of the war, more than 10,000 Metinvest employees have been mobilized, with some 8,000 still serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Approximately 1,300 have been demobilized, and nearly 1,000 of these veterans have returned to work at Metinvest’s enterprises.

Recognition and Response

“Winning two awards at once, including the Grand Prix—the highest accolade newly introduced this year—affirms the professional community’s high regard for our work with veterans,” said Tetyana Petruk, Metinvest’s Director of Sustainable Development and Interaction with Personnel. “We are pleased that other companies also emerged as winners in the veteran category, as there should be no competition here. We all share one overarching goal: to help veterans integrate seamlessly into peaceful civilian life. For us, this award is both recognition and motivation to continue supporting those who defended our country.”

About HR Brand Ukraine

“HR Brand Ukraine” is a premier, annual national award honoring the most effective and impactful projects in human capital management and employer branding. Part of the Eclectic Talents Group’s international outsourcing ecosystem, the award’s panel of 13 HR experts evaluates nominees. PwC ensures the credibility of the judging process. This year, veterans themselves were involved in evaluating entries for the “Return of Veterans to Civilian Life” category, adding a critical and authentic perspective to the judging process.

By achieving these top honors, Metinvest sets a leading example for corporate veterans’ programs across Ukraine, encouraging others to step up and support servicemembers as they transition back into civilian roles.
