Nancy Pelosi Completed Her Visit to Taiwan

In less than a day, the speaker completed a series of meetings with Taiwanese government officials and is now leaving the country

The historic meeting has ended. China intimidated the world public as much as possible with the consequences of Pelosi's visit, but the representative of the US democracy does not lack the strength and courage to express her support for a small country that needs it — Taiwan.

During her visit, Pelosi met with the president of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-wen and discussed the strengthening of cooperation between states and support for the protection of democratic values.

"Our delegation had the distinct privilege of meeting with the president of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-wen, today. We discussed how America & Taiwan can deepen our economic ties, further strengthen our security partnership & defend our shared democratic values," Nancy Pelosi on Twitter.

The speaker thanked the president for presenting her with an honorary Taiwanese award — the Order of Propitious Clouds.

"It was also my high honour to receive from president Tsai Ing-wen of Taiwan the Order of Propitious Clouds with Special Grand Cordon: a symbol of our treasured friendship. Make no mistake: America remains unwavering in our commitment to the people of Taiwan – now & for decades to come," Nancy Pelosi.

Speaker Pelosi also held an online meeting with legislative assembly speaker Yuan Yu Si-kun and a personal meeting with legislative assembly vice president Yuan Tsai Chi-chang.

"We reaffirmed our unwavering support for Taiwan's democracy, including on issues of security and stability, economic growth and governance," Nancy Pelosi.
