NATO Canceled Mandatory MAP for Ukraine

Now Ukraine can become a member of the Alliance in 1 stage

On July 11, Jens Stoltenberg expressed the consent of the NATO member states to accept Ukraine into the Alliance without implementing the NATO Membership Action Plan. However, in turn, Ukraine is obliged to fulfil several conditions, after which a review of the readiness of our country will take place and, in the best case, the integration of Ukraine.

"We have confirmed that Ukraine will become a member of NATO and have agreed to eliminate the requirement for a membership action plan. This will change Ukraine's path to membership from a 2-stage process to a 1 -stage process," Stoltenberg during a NATO summit in Vilnius.

"We have also made it clear that we will invite Ukraine to join NATO when allies agree, and conditions are met."

In addition, allies have prepared for Ukraine a "practical support package to create full interoperability between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and NATO forces."

  • Reformation of the defence system of Ukraine according to NATO standards. The transition from Soviet guides to NATO, providing our army with the necessary technological components;
  • Ukraine-NATO Council. The first of them will take place on July 12 with the participation of Volodymyr Zelenskyy;
  • Own formulation of the North Atlantic route.

Ukraine is not limited by specific deadlines for fulfilling its NATO integration obligations. Simultaneously with the reformation of the military-defence sector of Ukraine, NATO allies will support Ukraine until its victory over Russia.

We remind you that earlier, James Cleverly said that the UK would be very-very supportive of accepting Ukraine without MAP.
