Ukraine has a clear seasonal outline. In autumn, the first frosts come to the country, cold rains, and the temperature tends to 0°C. In winter, Ukraine freezes and covers with snow. In some regions (Donetsk, Luhansk) the temperature can reach -25°C. The equipment in which the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are now serving is not designed for such conditions. Therefore, the Ministry of defence of Ukraine sent a request to the NATO countries for the transfer of winter military uniforms. According to the German media Bild, the Alliance responded and began collecting warm equipment.
According to the DPA resource, the United States, Canada, Sweden, Finland, and Germany agreed to take care of clothes for Ukrainians, for which about €40 million will be allocated. These funds will be used to buy clothes, shoes and tents for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, NATO countries will cover about half of Ukraine's request. The rest of our state will cover its own capacities and through private fundraisings.
