Today in New York, a personal meeting between Denys Shmyhal and Liz Truss took place. During the dialogue, the parties discussed the energy security of Ukraine and Europe. According to Shmyhal, the result of the conference was the UK's willingness to provide Ukraine with support for gas purchases and the development of its gas sources and production.
"I am glad to meet British prime minister Liz Truss in New York. We continue to develop our strategic partnership: we discussed the supply of weapons, preparations for the heating season and the restoration of Ukraine. In particular, the UK is ready to provide financial support to Ukraine for the purchase of gas and to assist British business in the development of Ukrainian sphere of gas production," Denys Shmyhal.
Next year, the UK will host the UkraineRecovery conference, which this year was held in Lugano. Truss and Shmyhal discussed the upcoming conference in London and decided to create a specialized working group.
We remind you that before the New York flights, Liz Truss gave a short comment to journalists, in which she confirmed that the UK will stand by Ukraine every step of the way, as well as provide about £2.3 billion of military support.
